About Esme

esme at Wellbeing & Yoga RetreatsYoga for me is more than just about stretching your body. It’s a kind of therapy and it’s been part of my life for many years. I use it to calm down when I am stressed or to pick myself up when I feel down.

I qualified as a yoga teacher in 2008 and have been teaching ever since. When I teach I follow my intuition and adapt to whoever I have in front of me. Over the years I’ve learned to read what each body needs.

I teach Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga: but I have a very open mind to all styles and believe different types of yoga fit with the various stages of life. There’s no wrong or right way; my aim is simply to make people feel opened and relaxed by the end of the class. You are your best teacher and my job is just to pass on my yoga knowledge to help you build your own practice in a safe manner.

I believe a strong body brings about a strong mind. I am also a Reiki Master, I practice mindfulness meditation and use Bach Flower remedies to change the way I feel.

My retreats bring all of this together. I am passionate about creating a healing space where people can grow spiritually because they have no distractions, push their body physically, and embrace who they really are. When all this happens, they leave feeling energised – and always want to come back.

About Kate

Kate has been a registered nutritional therapist since 2007, after training with the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in London for 3.5 years.   She now runs the Edinburgh Clinic of Nutrition and has particular interests in digestive health and female hormone disorders.  She is the only Metabolic Balance coach in Edinburgh – an incredibly effective, personalised weight management programme.   Currently Kate is training with AFMCP (Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice).

Kate has a huge passion in nutrition, cooking and using food to nurture and nourish our systems.  This began in her early 20s when she looked after her mum with cancer.  Researching and providing nutritionally dense meals was an important part of their day and planted a seed for Kate, leading to retraining from a teaching career to nutritional therapist several years later.
