Whatever your ability, Esme, an experienced Edinburgh-based yoga teacher, can help you to enjoy being in your own body. Click here to see her website.
I qualified as a yoga teacher in 2008 and have been teaching ever since. When I teach I follow my intuition and adapt to whoever I have in front of me. Over the years I’ve learned to read what each body needs.
I teach Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin yoga: but I have a very open mind to all styles and believe different types of yoga fit with the various stages of life. There’s no wrong or right way; my aim is simply to make people feel opened and relaxed by the end of the class. You are your best teacher and my job is just to pass on my yoga knowledge to help you build your own practice in a safe manner.
I believe a strong body brings about a strong mind.
I am also a Reiki Master, I practice mindfulness meditation and use Bach Flower remedies for myself and to help others.
My retreats bring all of this together. I am passionate about creating a healing space where people can grow spiritually without distractions, where they can push their body physically, and embrace who they really are. When all this happens, they leave feeling energised – and always want to come back.
I went to Esme’s retreat thinking I had a really healthy January and was on great form. However the whole process of unwinding was a real eye opener for me. I realised I had no “gas left in the tank” After 3 days in beautiful perthshire in a lovely house with an aga I felt like a different person. Yoga, meditation and nutritional advice left me inspired. I really learnt so much and had a wonderful time.
As you are so vibrant, full of enthusiasm and energy, fun and open to change. We know we are always going to be doing something different which is good for the soul – I enjoyed the inclusion of meditation and neti pots as part of that. The partner yoga was timed beautifully, I had a great partner and in fact it was one of the most enlightening parts of the weekend. So to summarise, I thought it was brilliant, would love to come again.
For the fabulous retreat weekend. Everything worked so well, from start to finish. You have done a fantastic job. Evie has done a great job in the kitchen, every meal was so inspirational and energising. Even the wheatgrass drink seemed to taste slightly more apetising at the retreat weekend than from my own kitchen ????????????
Look forward hearing about the next Scottish retreat ????
I enjoyed every moment of the week-end, it was a great balance of challenging yoga, adult-pace (!) walks, healthy delicious food, quiet time (I even managed a luxurious hot bath at 5 in the afternoon on Saturday, not done in a long time!) and interesting chats with lovely like-minded people. I feel very chilled and uplifted and hope the effects will last for as long a time as possible…
The company was great. Love it! Will recommend your Retretat to everyone!!!! Thank you so much.
Amazing yoga and food in a very relaxing environment. Looking forward to coming again next year!
It has been a very worthwhile and uplifting experience. I loved the attention to details in the rooms, the quality of the food on offer, the very varied yoga sessions.
The venue was perfect: isolated yet cosy, with lots of good walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
Will return home rested, refreshed, nourished and rejuvenated. Thank you Esme!.
